Director of Schools

As the Director of Schools, Mr. Baker is the operations and financial manager of the Meigs County School System. Mr. Baker works, in conjunction with the Meigs County School Board, to provide the best educational opportunities for the students of Meigs County.


Deputy Director for Special Programs and Services

David Brown serves as the Deputy Director for Special Programs. He is responsible for providing supervision and management of the following programs: special education, school psychology, technology, attendance, homeschooling and alternative education plans. As the Deputy Director for Special Programs, he serves as a resource for the faculty and administration of the Meigs County School System, and as a source of information to keep all departments and the administration aware of the most up-to-date changes in special education.

Assistant Director

Renae Martin serves as an Assistant Director of Schools. She serves as a resource for the faculty and administration of the Meigs County School System. She is responsible for overseeing new teachers in the areas of curriculum development, planning, data analysis, teacher evaluations, classroom instruction, and serves as a source of information to keep all departments and administration aware of the most up-to-date changes in education. As Assistant Director, Mrs. Martin serves as the Supervisor of Federal Programs and manages each program’s implementation and fiscal budget.

Assistant Director

Carmen Choat serves as an Assistant Director of Schools and Supervisor of Secondary Education and College and Career Readiness. As secondary supervisor, she serves as a resource for the faculty and administration at Meigs County High School and Meigs County Middle School. She is responsible for overseeing curriculum development, classroom instruction, teacher evaluations, data analysis, and serves as a source of information to keep all departments and the administration aware of the most up-to-date changes in secondary education.

Supervisor: Early Childhood Education

Amanda Pritchett serves as a System-Wide Supervisor in the areas of Elementary Education and Special Education. As the Elementary Supervisor, she serves as a resource for the faculty and administration at both Meigs North and Meigs South Elementary Schools. She is responsible for overseeing the pre-kindergarten program, elementary curriculum development, classroom instruction, teacher evaluations, data analysis, and serves as a source of information to keep all departments and the administration aware of the most up-to-date changes in elementary education. As a Supervisor of Special Education, Mrs. Pritchett serves as school psychologist and provides special education resources, organizes testing, and supervises the special education programs to prepare our students to enter into and be successful in school.

Supervisor: Safety and Social Services

Tad Roberts serves as the Director of Safe and Supportive Schools. As Director of Safe and Supportive Schools, he serves as a resource for guardians, students, faculty, and administration within the Meigs County School System. He is responsible for the coordination and oversight of safety plans and procedures at each school and the implementation of safety drills and training exercises. He serves as a liaison to local, state, and federal emergency agencies, and partners with the school resource officers to provide security, safety education, and training within the schools. As the Director of Safe and Supportive Schools, it is his duty to ensure that our school system provides direct and indirect services to our students, families, and school personnel to promote and support our students’ academic and social successes.

Supervisor: Instructional Resources

James Boshears serves as Supervisor of Instructional Resources. Mr. Boshears is responsible for providing supervision and management of teacher licensure. He also serves as the system-wide testing coordinator and textbook coordinator.

Coordinated School Health Director

The CSH Director ensures all school system health initiatives and services/programs/curriculums are effectively coordinated so duplication of efforts are avoided and evidence-based interventions are provided that build and sustain a healthy school environment for all students, faculty and staff. CSH Directors develop and sustain community/parent/student partnerships, strengthen school health policies, provide program evaluation, engage in media relations and grant writing, and provide staff professional development to promote comprehensive health education, physical education/activity, nutrition, health services (student health screenings for BMI, BP, vision, hearing, scoliosis and dental)

District Educational Technology Coordinator

Amy Woods serves as system-wide coordinator for educational technology in each school. Mrs. Woods is responsible for training, modeling, and assisting teachers in integrating technology in the classroom to improve student achievement. She also implements, coordinates, and evaluates the integration of educational technology as tools to support instruction.


GEARUP Site Coordinator

Keri Fitch serves as the GEARUP Site Coordinator. She provides resources and organizes activities to continue to prepare our students to enter into and be successful in college and the workforce. She coordinates various initiatives and events including college trips, college and career fairs, senior signing days, FAFSA days, and ACT prep, and mentors seniors throughout their final year as they prepare for post-secondary education.
