Meigs Middle is supporting one of it's own, 7th grade language arts teacher, Mr. Jace Greene, as he fights a diagnosis of cancer. We are taking t-shirt orders through March 6 during morning bus duty. Order forms went home with students during the last progress report. Students can see Mrs. Malone in the gym in the mornings if they need an additional order form. All money raised will go directly to Mr. Greene to help with expenses.. We hope you will like and share this post and buy a t-shirt!

The new school year will be here before we know it. 🎒 To make sure your child has a smooth start, it's crucial to update their information with the school.
Don't wait until the last minute! Taking a few minutes now to update your child's records will help ensure a safe, organized, and successful school year for everyone.
Here's why it's so important:
1. Safety First: Ensure the school has current emergency contacts and medical information.

MEIGS COUNTY PARENTS:
Find A Summer Food Service Program Site
Summer Food Service Program sites are open and available when school is out for the summer.
Once school is out, the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) begins. The SFSP is a partnership between the USDA Food and Nutrition Service, the Tennessee Department of Human Services (TDHS) and community-based organizations to provide free meals to children in their communities throughout the summer. This institution is an equal opportunity provider.
Parents can find meal sites near them by: Going to the USDA Summer Meal Finder Website
**If your search doesn’t show any results on the map, it’s possible that summer sites have not opened for the season. The site finder is updated every Friday, so check back frequently for the latest information.

Reflecting on growth and aspirations, our high school seniors recently opened letters they wrote to their future selves in 8th grade. Delivered by dedicated teachers Mrs. Malone and Mrs. Beth Ellison, these letters reminded students of their academic and personal goals. It’s inspiring to see how far they’ve come! What valuable insights can we gain from our past ambitions?

Meigs Middle met the criteria to earn Reward School status for 2023-2024! Let's do it again in 2024-2025!!
In Tennessee, a school is designated as a Reward School if it achieves an overall school score of 3.1 or higher on the federal accountability system and is not identified as a Comprehensive Improvement School, Targeted Support and Improvement School, or Additional Targeted Support and Improvement School. This recognition highlights high performance and/or improvement in student achievement and growth.

Mrs. A's 8th grade science students review for TCAP by building circuits to discuss non contact forces, energy conversion, and light and sound behaviors.
