Congratulations to our middle school spelling bee winners! 1st place - Caylee B., 2nd place - Chloeigh B., 3rd place - Chloe C. 41 students participated in the spelling bee this year. Caylee B. will advance to the regional bee in Nashville, TN.
Meigs Middle School will host an open house/parent conference on February 18th from 3:30-6:30. Everyone is invited to attend.

Meigs Middle would like to thank the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 79 Meigs County Unit for their generous support of our students and staff. These ladies delivered paper towels, pencils, wet wipes, highlighters, erasers, tissues and other items to be used in our classrooms! These donations will have a direct impact on our students. We live in a great community!

Congratulations to Alyssa L.! She competed in an archery tournament this past weekend with some of the high school archery team and won 1st place in middle school female 3D and 2nd place in middle school female bullseye. Way to go, Alyssa!
Family Engagement Series on Dyslexia
Meigs Middle and the MoonPie fundraising team are helping raise funds to enrich the environment and support student success through school programs, activities, and resources at our school. Our fresh-baked MoonPie fundraiser starts today and ends on Monday, November 18th. Our entire program runs using a smart phone app to sell, place orders for MoonPies, or to donate money to our school. Once our sale ends, the truck of MoonPies will be delivered to Meigs Middle so students/parents can pick them up and deliver them locally to our supporters. Prizes are offered for students who sell. Meigs Middle Baseball Team
The Meigs Middle School Softball Team recently completed their season by winning the Tennessee River Valley Conference Championship, defeating Tellico 19-1 in the finals. These girls finished the season with a record of 24 wins and 2 losses. Prior to the tournament, they were regular season champs in the West Division of the conference and won the Gold Division Championship in the Jim Dodson Memorial Tournament to begin their season. Mr. Woods presented the team with a plaque for their accomplisment.
The team is coached by Head Coach Jill Henry and assistant coaches Morgan Jarvis, Jeremy Jones, and Zach Henry. Team members are: #1 Acelynn Maddron, #3 Cali Armour, #7 Kayden Hawes, #10 Kinley Porter, #11 Makenna Long, #13 Carley Emery, #14 Addeline Henry, #15 Makinley Moon, #16 Willow Hopson, #23 Ava Malone, #24 Kylee Preston, #26 Maddie Williams, #28 Trinity Meadows, #29 Mattie Fowler, #30 Mollie Grubb, #32 Maddie Sewell, #33 Kenzie Norton, and #44 Brilee Harris.
Meigs Middle students with less than 10 points and no more than 1 unexcused absence for the first nine weeks were rewarded with an afternoon fun day! Students spent the sunny but cool afternoon outside playing games and jumping on inflatables.
