This week is school counselor appreciation week. Our school counselor is one of a kind. She has a heart of gold and tries to change the world by beginning in Meigs County. She is very efficient with her time and can manage any schedule you throw at her. She loves our students, teachers, her friends, her family and especially this little jewel (her granddaughter) BIG! We appreciate her dedication to our school and county.

8th graders visited the Career and Technical Education (CTE) classes offered at the high school. Students are required to complete one career pathway in order to graduate. These classes offer opportunities to personalize their education based on career interests and unique learning styles. By visiting in person, students can make a more educated plan because they are given the opportunity to see the classes in real life, meet the teachers, see the equipment, and ask questions to current high school students.

Meigs Middle would like to say "THANK YOU" to our school board for all you do for our system!
Miss Kylie's class has been learning about the ancient Egyptian culture and their written language. They all made their own papyrus paper by staining the paper with tea bags, and Miss Kylie burned the edges. They then each wrote their name in the ancient Egyptian language called hieroglyphics.
Mrs. A's students reviewed lunar phases using spheres and a light source in 8th grade science. They modeled the motion in the earth, moon and sun system due to gravity in our solar system. Students practiced identifying the different phases of the moon and eclipses during the various phases.
