Meigs Middle golf tryouts - September 9 - @ 5:00pm - Olde White Oaks Golf Course - 705 Co Rd 105, Athens, TN 37303 - Students need a sports participation packet completed if they haven't already. Students can pick up a sports participation packet from the school office.
Mrs. A's 8th grade science students worked with lab partners to identify and explain motion using Newtons 1st law of motion. They watched pennies fall into the cups while their notecards flew out from underneath. They discussed types of forces at play and how balanced and unbalanced forces were to cause such motions.
8th grade students in Mrs. B. Ellison's ELA classes built plot diagrams to sort out elements of their first text of the year. After comparing their diagrams to those around them, they identified and labeled the sections in their textbooks to refer to when they write their own narratives later in the 9 weeks.
Congratulations to our Meigs Middle softball team! They won 1st place in the Gold Division at the Jim Dodson softball tournament in Athens, TN. Way to go girls!!

The faculty and staff at Meigs Middle have put in time and effort this summer to cultivate a warm and inviting environment with newly painted walls & freshly waxed floors. They cannot wait to see these halls filled with students! 🐅📚📓
