Our Word of the Month for October is Courage. Courage is being brave enough to do what's right, even when it's hard or scary. It's about standing up for yourself and others, trying new things, admitting mistakes, and making choices that align with your values.
What does courage look like?
speaking up when someone is treated unfairly
trying something new even if you're nervous
admitting mistakes and taking responsibility
doing the right thing, even when no one is watching

🌟 A big shout-out to Ms. Chastity, Ms. Amanda, & Ms. Kendra's class! 📚 They had an amazing time reading "My Mouth is a Volcano"! 🌋 Afterward, they tried out a fun eruption experiment that mirrored the character Louis's experiences.
Here are some activities you can do at home:
The "Wait" Game: Use a timer to practice waiting before speaking. Start with just a few seconds and gradually increase the time. Make it fun by celebrating when your child successfully waits for their turn!
Volcano of Feelings: Talk about the feelings that can make our words "erupt."
Listen, Then Speak: Practice active listening. When you're talking, have your child repeat what you said before they respond. This helps them slow down and think before they blurt out their own ideas!
What other activities can you do at home to teach patience? Share below! 👇💬
