Meigs County Schools will be closed tomorrow, Monday, Dec. 15 due to forecasted extreme temperatures

Students who raised money and participated in our annual walk-a-thon were awarded prizes today. Everyone who raised money received a prize. Some students who raised large amounts of money or completed the highest number of laps were allowed to select a prize. This year Meigs North Students raised $10,413.

We have a slight change of plans. MNE walk-a-thon prizes will be awarded tomorrow (Thursday) morning instead of Friday. Thanks. JJ

Santa is Coming! Santa will be at Meigs North on December 12th. Pictures can be purchased for $3.00 each. Don't miss out.

MNE will sell nachos for our Angel Fund this week. The cost is $2. Students in K-2 will be on Wednesday, Dec 3, and students in grades 3-5 will be Thursday, Dec 4. Thanks. JJ

MNE will unfortunately have to cancel after school Bible tmrw, Tuesday, December 2. We will start it up again in January. Thanks. JJ

This is our final week of after school tutoring at MNE this semester. We will have tutoring today and Thursday. Pickup is at 4:00. JJ

Ms. Joy will be selling nachos to students in grades K-2 on Wednesday, December 3, 2025. The nachos will be $2.00. All proceeds go to our Christmas for Kids fund.

The Meigs North word of the month for December is Empathy. Empathy is understanding how someone else is feeling and showing care through our words and actions. There are many ways that students can show empathy.
listening to someone's problems.
checking on others to see how they feel
including others in activities
helping someone that is struggling
staying patient and respectful when someone is sad or hurting
trying to understand the feelings of others and how they can be different from our own
spreading random acts of kindness
solving problems kindly by offering solutions without arguing
being flexible when someone isn't having a good day

Kindergarten students at Meigs North held a parade to celebrate the Thanksgiving season. The idea is based on the book Balloons over Broadway. We had a wonderful time seeing and waving to all our Kindergarten students who participated and made balloons.

The 4-H Baking Contest is coming soon. In order to enter You must create your muffins or biscuits from scratch. No MIXES. Include the recipe with your item. 4th grade students need to bring 3 muffins of any kind. 5th grade students need to bring 3 biscuits of any kind. Your entry will be judged based on taste and presentation. Have your entry ready on December 4, 2025.

Meigs County Schools will be closed November 24-28, 2025. This gives time for our students and staff to be with their families during the Thanksgiving holiday. We hope everyone has a safe and happy week off.
