Parents, grade cards were sent home with students today. We also sent home some info about tutoring with some of the students. Thanks. JJ
Parents: Our list and found jackets and hoodies are already piling up again. As we prepare to face some cold and rainy days ahead, please consider putting your child's name on the tag of his/her jacket/hoodie in case they lose it.
Our word of the month for January is Self- Control. Self-Control means stopping, thinking, and making a good choice, even when something feels hard or exciting. Self-control may look like raising your hand before speaking, staying on task, taking turns, walking quietly, and using kind words. Before you act, stop, take a breath, and think about your choices.

We are incredibly grateful to State Representative Dan Howell and Community Foundation Ocoee Region Director Lisa Geren for stopping by to present a generous donation of $24,900 to Meigs North Elementary School!
Director of Schools Clint Baker and Principal Justin Jennings were honored to accept this gift, which was made possible by the Eastern Hemlock Fund. These funds will be used directly to install a much-needed awning at the bus drop-off area, ensuring our students and teachers remain dry and safe during inclement weather.
Thank you to Representative Howell and Lisa Geren for facilitating this gift and supporting our schools. What a wonderful way to kick off 2026!

Meigs North is a Partner in Education with Watts Bar Nuclear Plant. Each year Watts Bar hosts a golf tournament to raise money for schools that are in it's impact area. This year each school received a $10,000 check. The goes a long ways to help teachers in the classroom, student learning opportunities and our school as a whole. We would like to thank TVA for being our partners and helping us teach the next generation.

We would like to congratulate Titan R. and Rawling B. for participating in the Elk's Lodge Hoop Shoot in Gatlinburg on December 14th. Titan will be moving on to participate in the Hoop Shoot in Nashville. We would like to wish Titan good luck!
MNE early dismissal schedule for Friday, December 19: Car riders approx. 9:30. Buses leave campus approx. 10:10. Thanks. JJ
The third grade classes proudly wrapped up their narrative writing unit by publishing their very own books. After weeks of planning, drafting, revising, and strengthening their storytelling skills, students selected their best pieces to be included in a class story. Each one is a collection of imaginative stories that showcased their hard work, creativity, and growth as writers. We celebrated them becoming published authors today!

Meigs County Schools will be closed tomorrow, Monday, Dec. 15 due to forecasted extreme temperatures
