Our Welcome Back to School Dance will be on two separate dates this year. If your child is in grades K-2, they may stay on August 26th until 4:45 p.m. with permission. If your child is in grades 3-5, they may stay on August 27th until 4:45 with permission.
$3.00 admission with a permission slip
$3.00 pictures taken
Concessions will be sold during the event.
Please plan to pick your child up in the car rider line at 4:45 p.m.

Parents, if there are any changes to how your child is supposed to get home, please call the school and let us know. The earlier in the day, the better. We do not take students' word for it. We have to have a phone call or signed parent note. 423-334-5454. Thanks. JJ

Afternoon car riders are getting better, but there's still room for improvement. Reminder, we don't start until 3:00. Please don't be early because it clogs traffic on Highway 58. Please don't leave big gaps between vehicles. Thanks for your support and patience. JJ

Our August Word of the Month is Kindness.
Kindness means showing care, compassion, and respect for others through our words and actions. Our MNE students are encouraged to show kindness throughout the month. Teachers will be looking for students who demonstrate kindness and some students will be recognized during morning announcements. Please practice showing kindness through your words and actions.

The Boys and Girls' Club bus will begin on Monday, August 11th. In order for your child to ride the bus we need you to fill out paperwork with the Club. They will email us a a list of students who are allowed to get on the bus. Any child that does not have paperwork filled out will be unable to ride the bus.

MNE afternoon car riders was very busy yesterday. To help the line move along, please do not get out of your vehicles to help buckle your kids in. Pull down to the lower lot and park, and then help your child get buckled in. Thanks for your help and patience. JJ

MNE morning car riders: All cars enter through the north gate and exit thru the south gate. South gate is EXIT and buses ONLY. Dropoffs stay in right lane closest to building. Walkins stay in left lane and go to lower lot. Thanks for your patience. It will get better. Thanks. JJ

MNE car riders start at 3:00. We will have 2 lanes in front of the school lined up on the front sidewalk facing southbound. Please do not be early and do not block the outside lane to thru traffic prior to 3:00. We expect a high volume of traffic today, so please be patient. Thanks.

Meigs North Teacher Meet and Greet is today, Thursday, July 31, from 3:00-5:00. Student in grades 1-5 can come and meet their teachers, see their classrooms, and drop off school supplies. Kindergarten Roundup for all incoming k students is at 6:00 at MNE cafeteria. Thanks. JJ

We would like to welcome our K-5 students to our Open House on Thursday, July 31, 2025. This is a chance to meet your child's teacher and drop off school supplies. Students in grades 1-5 can drop by between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. Students entering Kindergarten will be welcome to join the Kindergarten Roundup from 6:00- 7:00 p.m. Students entering our Pre-K program will be hearing from their child's teacher this week . We are excited to see all our students!

Get ready for an amazing 2025-2026 school year at Meigs County Schools! We are absolutely thrilled to welcome our newest, littlest learners and their families to our Pre-K program. We know starting school is a big step, and we're here to support you every step of the way!

🗓️ Mark your calendars! Our Pre-K students will start on a staggered schedule the week of August 11th. The first day for ALL Pre-K students will be August 18th.

Join us for a chance to meet your child's teacher on Thursday, July 31, 2025. We will be open from 3:00-5:00 p.m. to greet our students and show them how to get to their classroom. This is also a good time to drop off school supplies. We hope to see you there.

Tennessee's Sales Tax Holiday will begin on July 25, 2025 and go through July 27, 2025. Save on back to school clothing and supplies.

To our wonderful Pre-K families, we're thinking of you as the new school year approaches! To make the transition even smoother, we will be providing all the necessary school supplies for our Pre-K students. We can't wait to partner with you in your child's first school adventure!
