Dear Parents,
As many of you know, a few years ago we began selling 5th grade ads for the yearbook for parents, grandparents, or other family members to purchase to congratulate your 5th grader on their accomplishments in elementary school and wish them luck at the Middle School. These ads were very popular and turned out very nice. Therefore, we will be selling these ads again this year. The ads are $20.00 and the money will be due when the ad is placed Ads may contain one photo (current, baby picture, etc.) and a few lines of encouragement.
Photos must be at least 4x6 or larger to look good on the page. Ads will be the size of a business card. We will be taking ads now through Friday, December 18, 2025. Don't miss out on this opportunity to recognize your child's accomplishments in a memory book that will last a lifetime!
***All pictures/ads will be in color.*** Directions for Placing Ad:
1. Please fill out Google form that is attached
2. Include the message you want to appear in the yearbook in the space provided on the order form.
(no more than 45 words)
3. Upload the photo you want to be in the ad or place it in an envelope or Ziploc bag.

Please make sure to put your child's name and teacher on the back of the photo so we may return these to you.
4. Place the money for the ad in the envelope or Ziploc bag as well. You can turn in cash or a check written to Meigs North Elementary (MNE)

*Place money for the ad in the envelope.
(Please put student's name and teacher's name on the envelope.)

🧱 Building Big Skills in Pre-K! 🧱
A huge shoutout to Ms. Jan's small group for an amazing week of "building!" This unit on structures is about more than just blocks and materials; it's about building foundational skills in engineering, literacy, and critical thinking.
They started the week with the classic tale of "The Three Little Pigs." 🐷🐷🐷 After reading the story, the students discussed how the different houses were built. Then, they put their own engineering skills to the test, working together to design and build structures.
Ms. Jan played the part of the Big Bad Wolf 🐺, but she was no match for our Pre-K builders! She huffed and puffed, but their houses stood strong. This fun activity is a powerful way for students to learn about cause and effect, problem-solving, and basic engineering principles.

🏡 Build on the Fun at Home!
Want to keep the learning going? Try these simple activities:
Go on a Compound Word Hunt: Look for compound words around your house or in the car. Point out words like toothbrush, bedroom, popcorn, sunglasses, or driveway. Ask your child if they can "break" the word into its two smaller parts.
The "Hometown" Huff & Puff Test: Challenge your child to build a tower using different materials (blocks, pillows, plastic cups, cardboard boxes). Have fun playing the "Big Bad Wolf" and see which structures are the strongest!
Talk Like an Engineer: When building, use new vocabulary! Ask questions like, "Do you think this will be a sturdy base?" or "What will support the roof?" This builds their vocabulary and scientific understanding.
