Students of the Month for October Each student was hand selected by their teacher(s) who believed that they practiced the Creed daily with whoever they interact with at school, whether that be classmates, teachers, and/or Mr. Gene. These students know how to live out the Meigs North Creed. Each student received a certificate, coupon for the concessions cart, and took a group photo for our Meigs North Facebook page. Great job friends and keep up the great work!

Spotlight on Teachers! Introducing Mrs. Ashley Smith. Hello! My name is Mrs. Ashley and I work in the special education department. One afternoon Miss Trudy Templeton called me and said she had a position that she thought I would be perfect for, and 16 1/2 years later I’m still here! You might see me starting my day out at car riders with my crew but I LOVE working with all of my kiddos and seeing them learn, grow, and become independent. My husband Anthony works in IT, owns his own company, and is also the archery coach at the high school. We have two accomplished, globe trotting children; Caleb, who also owns his own company and is a professional hunting and fishing guide in Alaska, Arkansas, and Canada so far, and Mattie who is currently a junior at TSU in Texas pursuing a degree in Agriculture Communications when she isn’t traveling or working. Some things you might not know about me; If I’m not at school or on the farm, I’m at church. I love a good cup of coffee. I’m a foodie. I am definitely a book dragon. I like to travel but I’m also a homebody, it’s complicated. And I love, love, LOVE working on our family farm, it’s my favorite place to be!

Mrs. Caitie's 3rd grade writing classes have been learning all the different parts of a paragraph. To celebrate learning them all, they completed their September writing project. After making their own apple pies, students used the writing process to write their own "how to" paragraph. This was their first paragraph they have written this year and they did an amazing job! Thank you to all of the families who donated the supplies!
