
Today our PreK classes painted rocks. These rocks will be hidden in the town of Decatur. The rocks were painted in order to promote PreK Pre-Registration and were designed by our current PreK classes. If you find one, please take a picture and tag Meigs North in the photo. PreK rocks!!
Pre-Registration for both PreK and Kindergarten will take place on Friday, April 28th, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.




Here at Meigs North our 3rd through 5th grade students are going through TCAP Bootcamp in Guidance to get ready for TCAP in a few short weeks. Here is a picture of a third grade class showing us how strong they are!! TCAPS here we come 😊🧡

This week is Spring Break for Meigs County Schools.


Each month teachers select students who show good character, have made academic achievements, and abide by our Meigs North creed of working hard, playing fair, and being kind and courteous. The March Students of the Month are Valerie P. and John L. - pre-k, Lylah L. and Riot A. - K, Sadie W. and Declan M.- 1st, Addison T. and Anthony B.- 2nd, Autumn M. and Remmick S.- 3rd, Alayden S. and Ty H.- 4th, Riley J. and Julian B. - 5th. Congratulations!



3rd grade students just wrapped up unit 5 in ELA about inventions and inventors. Students had an opportunity to make a poster of an invention they created or how to improve an everyday object that already exists.





4th grade students took a field trip to learn about science standards. Students were divided into small groups and rotated through stations to learn about the earth, plate tectonics, creation of mountains, renewable and non renewable resources, soil erosion, and water runoff. Students, teachers, and volunteers enjoyed these hands on experiments. Thank you to all our volunteers, the 4th grade teachers, and Mrs. Megan Harris for a wonderful day.

Meigs North will be celebrating Read Across America week beginning February 27. Each day is a different dress up day. We will end the week with guest readers.


We would like to congratulate our 4-H speech contestants. In fifth grade Carson J. won first place, Sierra B. Won fourth place, and Kerry Ann P. Won fifth place. In fourth grade Harper P won third place and Beighlee K won fourth place. Great job!





Our Scholastic Book Fair will begin on February 22 and go through March 3.


No school for students on Monday February 20, 2023.


The Meigs County Lady Tigers will be in action in the district tournament tonight, February 16, at 6 pm. Admission is $5, and only TSSAA and TACA passes will be accepted. Gates will open at 5 pm. The game will not be live-streamed due to TSSAA District Tournament rules.


Today is National School Resource Officer Appreciation Day. We want to thank Officer Jamerson for keeping our students and staff safe.
