What a great way to close out National School Counselors week...talking about 4H speeches on the topic of friendship! Meigs North is so blessed to have Mrs. Rachel!

Our school was invited to participate in the Governor’s Early Literacy Foundation’s K-3 Home Library program this summer.
Through this program, all rising 1st-3rd grade students in our school district are being given the opportunity to receive six high-quality books and activity pages, delivered to their homes this summer at no cost to families.
By completing the process below, you are opting your child out of participating in the K-3 Home Library program in Summer 2023.
This means your child will not receive six high-quality books and activity pages, delivered to your home this summer.
If you choose NOT to participate, contact your child’s teacher. Taking this step will ensure your child will NOT receive the books. In order to opt out, you must call and do so by 3:30 on Friday, February 17. After that time, we will not be able to remove your child from the recipient list.

3rd grade students studied idioms by having a dress up day. Students dressed up as their favorite idiom. An idiom is an expression that means something different than the literal meaning of the words. An example would be “break a leg”. See if you can figure out the idioms for these students.

We would like to congratulate Mrs. Kim Scott on being selected as educator of the week for the week of January 30. To see the story go to https://fb.watch/ivKTPsN5kV/?mibextid=v7YzmG. Our science fair was a huge success! We are very proud of our 29 participants and the work they put in to creating such amazing projects. Every child that participated will receive one ticket for a science related experience, because of donations from Wonderworks, the TN Aquarium, TN Museum of Science and Energy, The Creative Discovery Museum, and the Muse of Knoxville. The prizes for the winners were made possible by donations from local Walmarts and Chattanooga Sams Club.
We had judges from VEC, TVA, a doctor, medical student, engineers, and a retired teacher talk to our students about various STEM fields. We want to thank our judges for supporting our creative thinkers.
We also want to say a huge thank you to our science department. Mrs. Ashley Kranz, Mrs. Tammie Melhorn, and Mrs. Aymi Stephens did a great job planning and setting up this event.

Get your yearbook order form in. All orders due by March 6. Send it to your child’s teacher or go to ybpay.com. Don’t wait.

Don’t forget to come see us at Open House tomorrow night.

We can’t wait to see everyone’s science projects this week.
