Lots of activities happening this Saturday, April 27th-Spring Around the Square at the Meigs Co. Courthouse from 10-4 w/ over 50 vendors that will be setup along with Football & Basketball booster clubs, Touch-A-Truck will at the Fairgrounds from 10-2 for children to see, touch, and explore emergency and construction vehicles and a special time for children with sensory needs from 10-11. There will also be a Car Show at the Boys and Girls Club from 9-1 pm on Saturday. Come out and enjoy all the things happen in our community this weekend!

Meet Dr. Alex Dawson - a remarkable individual who graduated from Meigs in 2015 and received a Doctorate of Audiology from The University of Tennessee. Despite her demanding academic pursuits, Alex excelled as a D1 athlete and was part of the rowing team. Today, Dr. Alex Dawson is an audiologist in Augusta, Georgia, inspiring others to pursue their dreams and passions. #MeigsAlumni
Sarah Barrett, a former Meigs North student and 2019 graduate of Meigs County High School, has recently become the newest RN at East Tennessee Children's Hospital, where she works on the pediatric oncology unit. Her achievement is truly inspiring, and we are filled with pride to see a Meigs alumni make such a significant difference in the lives of many children and their families. #MeigsAlumni

Jaykob Stephens, a former student of Meigs, is a remarkable inspiration. After graduating in 2019, he attended ETSU, where he achieved the incredible feat of being recognized as the Most Outstanding Microbiology Student. Currently, he is a full-time employee at Reynolds Farms and also volunteers as a firefighter. His achievements continue to inspire us all. #MeigsAlumni

Thanks to the joint efforts of The Meigs-Decatur Friends of the Library, Meigs County Board of Education, GELF (Governor's Early Literacy Foundation), and the George R. Johnson Foundation (Hardee's Restaurants), we're bringing a Friends of the Library Bookmobile to Meigs County. With this Bookmobile, we can now reach out to even the most remote parts of the county and offer library services to all. Together, let's make reading a way of life for everyone in Meigs County!

Emily Henry, a proud native of Meigs County, is currently pursuing a degree in social work. She was recently recognized by Cleveland State Community College for her outstanding achievements during Social Work Month. Emily's passion for helping others is admirable and she plans to continue her education at Tennessee Wesleyan University to pursue a bachelor's degree in social work. Her goal is to work with non-profit organizations or the local school system to make a positive impact on people's lives. Emily, your achievements make us immensely proud.
