Welcome, New Meigs County Schools Teachers!
We are thrilled to introduce our newest educators who participated in the Meigs County Schools New Teacher Orientation on July 23-24, 2025! This comprehensive two-day program was designed to equip our new teachers with the knowledge and resources needed for a successful start to the school year.
The orientation kicked off with a warm welcome from Mr. Clint Baker, Director of Schools, followed by introductions of our Central Office Staff and principals. Our new teachers also had the opportunity to introduce themselves and connect with their new colleagues.
A highlight of day two was lunch with assigned Mentor Teachers. This invaluable time allowed new educators to discuss practical aspects of school life.
The orientation concluded with a critical session on Classroom Management led by Melanie Amburn, Assistant Professor of Education at Tennessee Wesleyan University, and Tracy Franklin, Associate Professor of Education.
We are incredibly excited for our new teachers to bring their energy and expertise to Meigs County Schools and look forward to a successful academic year!

What a way to end the school year! 🎉 PreK had an amazing picnic at the park filled with fun activities! From cuddling animals at the petting zoo 🐾 to picking out free library books 📚 from the Library Bus, and learning about water safety with the YMCA, it was a day to remember! 🌞 We wish all our little ones a wonderful summer and good luck as they head into Kindergarten!
Tryouts for the Middle School Summer Boys Basketball Team will be held Tuesday, May 20 from 4:00-5:30 at Meigs Middle School. This is for boys who will be in 6th, 7th, or 8th. grade next year.

All Boys & Girls Club parents this is a reminder that the Club will be closed all of next week for staff training and the following Monday for Memorial day. 5/19 to 5/26.
