📅 Meigs County Schools Spring Break Notice!
We are excited to announce that our Spring Break will take place from March 9-13. Students will return to school on March 16th. This break provides a perfect opportunity for students to relax and recharge.

The Lady Tigers continue in the Region Tournament tonight 3/2/26 against Kingston. The game is at Tellico and game time is 7:30. Admission is $8, so come out and support the Lady Tigers.

We want to take a moment to recognize the incredible work of our very own Wendy Brantley, who is currently representing Meigs County Schools on the Educator Advisory Council (EAC)! 🎓✨

Throughout her time serving with the Governor’s Early Literacy Foundation (GELF), Wendy serves as a vital voice for Tennessee educators. She works alongside a select group of experts to help determine the very best resources to meet the literacy needs of K-3 students across our state. 📖✍️

Having Wendy’s expertise at the state level ensures that the unique needs of our rural district are always part of the conversation. We are so proud of the time and energy she dedicates to strengthening the future of literacy for our youngest learners! 🐯❤️

Basketball region play starts tonight. The Lady Tigers will be in action at Polk County. Game time is 6 pm and admission is $8. The Tigers will play on Saturday February 28 at home against CSAS. Game time is 6 pm and admission is $8. Gates will open at 4:30. Come out and support the Tigers and Lady Tigers in their quest to win a region title.

Meigs County Schools will be doing a Remote Learning Day tomorrow, Friday, February 27 where the students will be learning from home. Breakfast and Lunch will be available at all of our school locations from 9:00- 10:00 AM.

Important Update: Early Dismissal for Meigs County High School
Meigs County High School will be dismissing today, February 26, at 11:00 AM due to ongoing plumbing issues.

Please note that this dismissal applies ONLY to the High School. All other schools will remain on their regular schedules

Meigs County Schools is working to resolve an ongoing plumbing issue at the High School. Repairs are currently underway, and our top priority is ensuring the situation is corrected promptly.

We will provide further information as progress is made. Thank you for your patience.

If your child receives support from The Meigs County Schools Special Services Department, they should have received a parent survey this week that was to be sent home. This has been sent at the request of the Tennessee Department of Education. Parents are encouraged to complete the survey via either the QR code on the parent letter or by mail using the envelope provided. The deadline to submit surveys is May 15. Tray led an essential Stop the Bleed training session for our school safety teams. This hands-on training ensures our staff is prepared to act quickly and decisively in emergency situations, adding another vital layer of protection for our students and community.

Meigs County Schools will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, February 5 due to forecasted inclement weather this evening into tonight and below freezing temperatures in the morning causing hazardous road conditions such as black ice and icy driving conditions.

Meigs County Schools will be on regular schedule tomorrow, Wednesday, February 4th.

Meigs County Youth Baseball/Softball will have an in-person registration today for Baseball/Softball at the Middle School field 5-7pm .

Meigs County Schools will be closed tomorrow, Monday, February 2 due to hazardous road conditions on back roads, refreezing of those back roads over night into the morning and extreme temperatures.

The Final Registration for Meigs Youth Baseball/Softball has changed from today from 5-7PM to Tuesday, February 3, from 5-7PM all other information on the flyer is accurate.

Meigs County Schools will be dismissing early today at 2:00 PM in effort to get everyone home and buses off the roads prior to the forecasted winter weather coming in this evening. Thank you.
