No school on September 1, 2025 for the Labor Day holiday.

Monday, August 25th is Purple day. Please help our kindergarten students learn their colors by wearing purple.

MNE Back-to-School Dance for K-2 students is Tues., Aug. 26, after school until 4:45. Students must have a permission slip to stay. Cost is $3. Concessions and pictures available for purchase. Dance for students in grades 3-5 is Wed., Aug. 27, after school until 4:45. Thanks. JJ

Meigs North will start selling concessions to students on Fridays, starting tomorrow, August 22. Prices of items range from $0.25 to $2.00. Thanks. JJ

Wednesday, August 20th is Yellow day.

PTO meeting August 20th @ 3:30 in the cafeteria All parents welcome. Please park in the lower parking lot and walk up to the entrance.

Meigs North will have a PTO meeting at 3:30 on Wednesday, August 20. All parents are invited. To avoid buses, park in the lower lot and walk up the front sidewalk. Thanks. JJ

Tuesday, August 19th is Blue day.

Ms. Joy will begin her Concession Cart on Friday, August 22. She sells a variety of treats ranging in price from $0.50 to $1.50. Students will have the chance to purchase items during the day.

Monday, August 18th is Red day. Please help our kindergarten learn their colors by wearing red.

Our Welcome Back to School Dance will be on two separate dates this year. If your child is in grades K-2, they may stay on August 26th until 4:45 p.m. with permission. If your child is in grades 3-5, they may stay on August 27th until 4:45 with permission.
$3.00 admission with a permission slip
$3.00 pictures taken
Concessions will be sold during the event.
Please plan to pick your child up in the car rider line at 4:45 p.m.

Parents, if there are any changes to how your child is supposed to get home, please call the school and let us know. The earlier in the day, the better. We do not take students' word for it. We have to have a phone call or signed parent note. 423-334-5454. Thanks. JJ

Afternoon car riders are getting better, but there's still room for improvement. Reminder, we don't start until 3:00. Please don't be early because it clogs traffic on Highway 58. Please don't leave big gaps between vehicles. Thanks for your support and patience. JJ

Our August Word of the Month is Kindness.
Kindness means showing care, compassion, and respect for others through our words and actions. Our MNE students are encouraged to show kindness throughout the month. Teachers will be looking for students who demonstrate kindness and some students will be recognized during morning announcements. Please practice showing kindness through your words and actions.

The Boys and Girls' Club bus will begin on Monday, August 11th. In order for your child to ride the bus we need you to fill out paperwork with the Club. They will email us a a list of students who are allowed to get on the bus. Any child that does not have paperwork filled out will be unable to ride the bus.

MNE afternoon car riders was very busy yesterday. To help the line move along, please do not get out of your vehicles to help buckle your kids in. Pull down to the lower lot and park, and then help your child get buckled in. Thanks for your help and patience. JJ
