Spotlight on teachers! Introducing Mrs. Angie Brown.
Hi, I'm Angie Brown, a third grade reading teacher. I feel fortunate to be part of the MNE family and cherish my colleagues deeply. They have supported me countless times, and I truly appreciate their presence in my life.
I am married to Zac Brown, my wonderful husband, and we have two lovely daughters, Mia and Eva Mae. My journey into teaching began with substitute teaching, and after 17 years in the field, I am still passionate about it.
My family holds a special place in my heart, and we make it a priority to spend quality time together. We enjoy activities like camping, off-roading, attending concerts, and exploring the outdoors.

Meigs North will host its first PTO meeting of the year on Wednesday, August 21, 2024. The meeting will take place in the MNE cafeteria. All parents and staff are invited to attend. (Please park in the lower parking lot.) Thanks. JJ

Meigs North will host a Back To School Dance on Wednesday, August 28, 2024. Students in grades K-2 will be allowed to stay afterschool with permission. Students in grades 3-5 will come back at 4:45. Spotlight on teachers! Introducing Mrs. Amanda Miller.
My name is Amanda Miller. I am currently in school to obtain my degree in Early Childhood Education. I am a teacher's assistant in the blended Pre-K class. I started out subbing at the school and then landed in the blended Pre-K class and absolutely love it!
I have 2 kids, an 8 year old boy and an 11 year old girl. I married my high school sweetheart and have been married 12 years. I have chickens, a turkey, a duck, 2 cats, and a dog. I am a sports mama so we spend a lot of time going to sporting events. When we are not at a gym we love to be on the water or just hanging out as a family.

MNE is having Color Days for Kindergarten. All students are encouraged to participte by wearing the following colors on the designated days: Monday-Red, Tuesday-Blue, Wednesday-Yellow, Thursday-Green, Friday-Orange. Thanks. JJ

MNE will have all students (including all kindergartners) in attendance starting Mon., Aug. 19. We will have a higher volume of cars in our car rider lines. Please be patient with the process, and be ready to unload/load your child when you pull up to one of the designated spots. Thank. JJ

Spotlight on teachers! Introducing Mrs. Abby Henson.
Hello! My name is Abby Henson and I am so excited to join the Meigs community! I just got married in May and my husband is the new Band Director at Meigs Middle and High School. You'll find me helping the band at rehearsals and football games. I have an awesome family, especially my sister who attends UT and is a piccolo in the Pride of the Southland. Go Vols!
My favorite things to do are reading, baking, and traveling. My husband and I have been all over the country together, and this summer we cruised to Alaska.
I chose to be a teacher because of my former teachers, They always inspired me to do my best and I hope to do that with my own students.

Kindergarten students will be starting color days next week. We encourage everyone to wear the color of the day to support our Kindergarten friends.

Spotlight on teachers! Introducing Mrs. Angela Penrod.
Hi all! I am special education teacher at Meigs North. I graduated from Tennessee Wesleyan University in 2019 and am currently pursuing my masters degree in special education from TWU. My husband and I have been married for 2.5 years.
I chose to become a special education teacher because I enjoy working with students from diverse backgrounds, helping them to succeed and encouraging them in their academic careers.
When not working on my masters degree, I enjoy traveling, reading and spending time with friends and our cats.

Spotlight on teachers! Introducing Ms. Kara Scott.

The bus for the Boys and Girls Club will begin running after school on Monday, August 12, 2024. In order for your child to go the the B/G Club on that bus, you must first turn in paperwork and be approved at the Club. The Club then sends a list of approved students to the school. Thanks. JJ

Spotlight on teachers! Introducing Mrs. Leslie Burger.
My name is Leslie Burger. I am married to my wonderful husband, Larry. We have one beautiful daughter, Trista. We enjoy hiking and have recently been section hiking the Appalachian Trail (with Ms. Kara Scott). I chose to become a teacher because I had a BAD teacher. She made me realize that I could do it better! I never want to make a child feel unimportant or not smart, and I knew this was my calling! I'm looking forward to another school year!

Spotlight on our teachers! Introducing Izamarie Martinez.
My name is Izamarie Martinez, and I teach 2nd grade at MNE. This is my fourth year teaching, and I am grateful to be able to work alongside the MNE staff to help students grow and flourish during their early years of life.
Growing up, I have always had a passion for education. However, I didn't know what my calling truly was until I taught a Kindergarten class through Junior Achievement. Through my teaching, I focus on delivering healthy cultures of learning in which students are inspired and confident in their abilities. I believe that if children can establish a strong foundation in their learning at an early age, they are better equipped for the future.
Outside of the classroom, I have been happily married for almost an entire year. I love spending quality time with my spouse and my beloved dogs. I love to explore new destinations and cultures along with being able to try new foods. In everything I do, I strive to be an avid learner, constantly seeking new knowledge and experiences to bring back to both personal and professional endeavors.

Reminder about the Meigs North car rider line. 1. It starts at 3:00. Getting there early creates traffic and safety issues. 2. There are only 2 lanes, not 3. If you check a student out late in the day, please park in the lower lot and walk to the office. Otherwise, you may get stuck in traffic. Thanks. JJ

Spotlight on our teachers! Introducing Mrs. Reagan Cash.
I am from Dawsonville, Ga. I went to Lee and graduated in 2019 and then went on to finish my MAT in 2024. I have experience teaching science, kindergarten, and second grade but Kindergarten is my favorite! My husband and I have been married for 4.5 years and enjoy cooking and hiking! I love spending my free time swimming and with my kitty cats!
