3rd graders started their third unit, Government for the People, last week in their reading and writing classes. They read, "Election Day," and then had to write an opinion paragraph on if they thought people should have the right to vote or not. Today students had the chance to vote on it. Students had to show proof of identity and had to register to vote.

Meigs North will hold its Veterans Day celebration on Thursday, November 7, 2024. We would like to invite all veterans and active duty service members. The program will begin at 1:15. Please arrive a little early to find a seat. Thank you for your dedication and service to our country.
Meigs County Schools will be closed on Tuesday, November 5th for election day. Please go out and vote and have a safe day off.
There will be NO after school tutoring at MNE on Thursday, Oct.31. Students may wear their Halloween costumes if they want to. No masks. No blood. No gore. No weapons (real or fake). Inflatables may be asked to deflate during class time. Thanks. JJ

We would like to congratulate our Bus Riders of the Month for October. These students listen the driver, stay seated on the bus, and show others how to behave. They adhere to the Meigs North Creed of working hard, playing fair, and being kind and courteous to everyone.
Mrs. Green's kindergarten class had a wonderful time riding the fire truck as part of our fire safety program this morning.
Meigs North held its annual Fall Festival on October 24th. Students played games, voted on games, and participated in a hay ride. We want to thank everyone that came out to support our school.
Meigs North 3rd grade students enjoyed their annual Farm Day events on October 22, 2024. Students learned about animal care and farming activities. All students had a great time.

Meigs North FALL FESTIVAL is Thursday night from 5:00-7:00. Student admission is $5 and includes fun and games, prizes, and a hayride. Concessions will be sold. There will be a silent auction. Costume contest for kids at 6:00. Come and join us!

Students of the Month for October
Each student was hand selected by their teacher(s) who believed that they practiced the Creed daily with whoever they interact with at school, whether that be classmates, teachers, and/or Mr. Gene. These students know how to live out the Meigs North Creed. Each student received a certificate, coupon for the concessions cart, and took a group photo for our Meigs North Facebook page. Great job friends and keep up the great work!
Meigs North Elementary will be participating in Red Ribbon Week October 28- November 1, 2024. This year's theme is Life's A Movie. Film Drug Free. Please feel free to participate in our dress up days.
